Soldan to play Wheelchair Basketball for University of Alabama

Mackenzie Soldan has signed with the University of Alabama for the women's wheelchair basketball program.  Mackenzie is a member of the Sterling Heights Challengers (MI) high school team which is currently ranked 5th in the nation and the Louisville Men's Wheelchair Team Hill on Wheels.

In January, Mackenzie was named "Most Athletic" by the senior class.  She received the Centurion Award and has been a member of the newspaper staff.   In addition, Mackenzie has been a member of the Christian Academy tennis team for the past three years. 

Mackenzie will be trying out on April 12-13 for the women's national Paralympics Wheelchair Basketball Team which will compete at the Olympic Park in London, United Kingdom in 2012.  Additionally, Mackenzie has been invited to compete in the Osaka Cup along with the US Women's wheelchair basketball team later this month.

In addition to basketball, Mackenzie will compete in women's open wheelchair tennis in singles and doubles competition. If she does not make the women's national basketball team, she will train for the paralympics tennis team.

Mackenzie will be majoring in Marketing.
